BZ is a directly ported version of the BZ compressor from Mika Heiskanen for
the HP49G. We extracted the original source file from the "Hack Library v9.4"
and added the modified file BZ.S to this archive as well.

BZ49 is a smaller version of the ported BZ-compressor for the HP49G, over 250
bytes less. BZ49 uses the built-in aBZU for decompressing. It does not display
the compression time since this is far less interesting than decompression
time. Decompression is slightly faster with BZ49 than with BZ.

BZU49 is a small BZ-uncompressor and may be used in big BZ-condensed files for
sending them to other users which may not have BZ on their HP49. The
BZU49-argument must be a BZ-String.

It should be mentioned that for larger objects (grobs and programs of more then
500 bytes, say) the compression rate strongly depends on how coloured your grob
or program is. The less coloured the higher the compression rate. Here for a
program highly coloured is to mean you use many different commands or words
and do not leave much room for repetition.

The programs have been tested with the ROM versions: 1.18, 1.19-1, 1.19-3
